My beacon has uses a Radio Shack HTX-100. You can find them on eBay for
around 80 to 100 dollars. Mick, KB4UPIU

Old CB's can often be easily converted to a 10m beacon transmitter.  It
would be a far cheaper system than using an HF rig.  Alternatively,
there are schematics available for 10 meter QRP transmitters.  Or you
could find a decent but cheap 10m transceiver and dedicate it as a
beacon transmitter.  All of these suggestions would, in my opinion, be
far better than dedicating an all-band HF transceiver as a 10m beacon
transmitter.
