How is the family enjoying the Spring of 2004?

We are very busy with our new opportunities in Florida. Laurie and I just
spent a week in a class learning all about the Florida Phosphate industry.
It is part of a program to teach us how to impact students in Florida with
good information on this very important economic aspect of the Florida
economy.

All of this ties into our new relationship with Dr. Gary Parker and the
Creation Adventures Museum. But there is a lot more going on to make you
aware of in the next few weeks.

For now, let's just hit on a few very important items . . .

--SUMMIT AT BRYAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR JULY!
*****************************************

Our oldest son, Jeremiah has just been named Associate Director for
Worldview Studies for Summit Ministries at Bryan College! We are
very proud of him in securing this position. (He did it entirely
on his own . . . no help from dad on this one.)

Now Jeremiah has informed us that there are some partial scholarships
available for the July Summit Leadership Conference that we rant and
rave about every year!

So sign your kids up! Age 16 and up should consider this seriously!

HERE ARE THE DETAILS FROM JEREMIAH . . . . . . . .

Did you know there was a Summit program in Tennessee?

"I consider Summit Ministries to be one of the very best
resources available, and I don't say that lightly."
Dr. James Dobson, President Focus on the Family

That?s right, every summer since 1995 Bryan College (Dayton, TN) has
hosted the Summit Ministries life-changing two-week leadership
program for high school and college students. This summer, there are
two different sessions to choose from: July 4-16 and July 18-30!

The Summit at Bryan College
A Survival Course for the Christian Soul

?This program changed my life. It?s just that simple.? Glenn Stoltsfus (PA)

Imagine the impact of having tens of thousands of brave Christian young
people who not only know how to stay out of trouble, but who can
articulately and confidently stand for truth and righteousness in our
culture. The Summit at Bryan College is committed to meet this challenge.

The Summit at Bryan College is deceptively simple. Students come for
two weeks of intense training from some of the best Christian minds of
our nation. Instructors such as Dr. Jeff Myers, Dr. David Noebel, Dr.
Ron Nash, and Dr. Kurt Wise are carefully selected for their credibility,
their effectiveness in communicating with young people, and their heart
and mind for God. During those class times students learn to worship
God with their minds as well as with their hearts. They will develop a
Biblical Worldview, be able to recognize what exactly is wrong with the
wrong ideas of our age, learn persuasive arguments for Christianity,
and be challenged in how they can use their gifts and abilities to
effectively impact their world for Jesus Christ. Is it intense? Sure it
is, but the atmosphere is not so much academic as it is worshipful as
students learn to love God with their hearts, souls, and minds.

We don?t just keep the students ?cooped up? in a classroom. We take time
every day to enjoy the Bryan College campus and beautiful southeastern
Tennessee. Students can choose to participate in Whitewater Rafting,
Caving tours and fossil hikes led by creation scientist Kurt Wise,
basketball, soccer, water sports, and much, much more.

Summit does not just get young people "fired up" without giving them
an outlet for their enthusiasm. We furnish them with powerful strategies
for making a difference, help them develop a sense of mission, set goals
and become intelligent consumers of information (Proverbs 2:1-5,
Isaiah 33:5-6). As they grow in discernment and resourcefulness, Summit
graduates develop the kind of practical wisdom, which characterized the
tribe of Issachar (I Chronicles 12:32) that was chosen to lead because it
"understood the times, and knew what Israel ought to do."

?Why Parents Should Send Their Kids to Summit?

§ Most Christian teenagers (that is, teens who have named the historical
person of Jesus Christ as their Savior, Redeemer. Lord, King, Sovereign,
Head, Sustainer, etc.) do not have a meaningful grasp of what it means to
have in their own possession a Christian worldview. Summit?s two-week
program can help them.

§ Most Christian teenagers lack leadership skills. Summit can help.

§ Most Christian teens have absolutely no idea how their Christian faith
will be challenged by America?s Secular Humanist educational system
(sometimes called government schools). Summit will help them identify
the major issues here and explain the areas most deadly to their Christian
faith.

§ Most Christian teens have no idea that their Christian faith is being
subverted by another religious faith. Summit will prove to any open-minded
student that Secular Humanism is just as religious as Christianity.

§ Most Christian teens need their Christian faith grounded when it comes
to the areas of reason, revelation, science, philosophy, common sense, etc.
Summit can help them get a firm grasp in these areas.

§ Most Christian teens need help in the areas of moral relativism,
modernism, postmodernism, biological evolution, creationism, etc. Summit
can help them figure out the issues involved.

§ Most Christian teens need to know that there are other teenagers who
see life from a Christian perspective. Summit brings together some of the
finest Christian teenagers for this very purpose. One parent called me many
years ago and said something to the following: if Summit taught nothing
worthwhile but was only there to bring Christian teenagers together for two
weeks it would be worth it. The fact is that we do bring these teens together
for fun and fellowship, but also for serious study, contemplation and action.

§ Many Christian teens need help figuring out where to go to college or
university. Summit can help them sort out their alternatives. While we do
recommend Christian colleges and universities, many times we recommend certain
departments in our Secular Humanist schools. In fact, we tell our students
that some Christian colleges can be as deadly to their Christian faith as
arvard.

§ Many Christian teens need to expand their horizon and vision. Summit can
help them do so as we open up various mission fields. etc.

§ Many Christian teens and their parents (and grandparents) have written us
and told us how powerful an impact Summit?s two-week programs have had on
their lives. While we receive such mail nearly daily. I did just receive a
note from a student who was here 20 years ago who is still using the materials
taught and is now an administrator in a Christian school.

§ Most Christian teens have no idea about the Muslim worldview and its
assault on Western Civilization. Summit will help in this area.

§ Most Christian teens have little idea about the influence of Jesus Christ
on Western Civilization. Summit will help explain why Jesus Christ (even
according to Newsweek magazine) is the most influential figure of Western
Civilization.
§ Most Christian teens have no idea how the influence of Jesus Christ is
being challenged by the beliefs of Darwin, Marx, Freud, Nietzsche, Dewey,
Rorty,
etc. Summit will help sort out the score card.

[Miah has given us a lot to share with you to think about. Please distribute it
to your homeschooling and Christian school friends! Young people need this
stuff!
HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

AND REMEMBER, THERE ARE SOME SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE ON A LIMITED BASIS TO HELP
REDUCE THE COST. CHECK IT OUT TODAY! DON'T PROCRASTINATE!]

Good Learning!
