************************************************************

June 2003,

We hate to bother you as you and the family are
enjoying the summer break.

But . . .

We need to ask you to take a few minutes and think about
whether or not your support group wants to have us come
to your town and do a CLEP Prep Class for your students.

By now you have heard that we are traveling to many
places and doing classes to help homeschoolers (and even
some parents and non-homeschooled students) prepare for
one or more of the CLEP tests.

Many parents are learning about this alternative means
to "double credit" high school and college. It's a great
way for a homeschooler to validate the high school work,
at the very least. But more significantly it provides a
way to test out of subjects in classes that your student(s)
already know(s). It's also a way to keep some
"low-maintenance" but "high-reward" learning going on
in the summer.

If you aren't yet familiar with CLEPs, go to our web site,
www.clepclasses.com and learn the information.

But more importantly, we are hoping your local support
group, regional or state conference will contact us very
soon about putting together a 3-day event for the Summer
or Fall.

There are several reasons that CLEP testing can be of
benefit to your secondary students:

1. It validates the high school work your students have
done.
2. It gives your students college credit along with the
high school credit.
3. It motivates students by helping them realize they
are gaining college credit when they pass a CLEP exam.
4. It saves significant money over the cost of college
tuition.
5. It provides a way for homeschoolers, who finish their
high school subjects earlier than other students, to keep
working on college subjects at home (assuming they didn't
CLEP the courses when they took them originally).
6. It eliminates the investment of time in college
courses that will be redundant learning, that is, subjects
that the student already knows but is forced to take
because the college curriculum requires them.
7. It reduces college boredom in classes that the
student already has learned before.
8. It lets the student get ahead more quickly at less
expense toward their college major.

Now, we know that there will be some exceptions to the
rule, where CLEPs won't be accepted at a particular
school, or some other reason why the CLEP approach may
not work for your student. That is why we always make a
point to emphasize that you should check with the college
you are looking to have your student attend FIRST. Find
out their CLEP policy, and make sure that they are valid
for your student's educational path.

This is one of the reasons that we advocate parent-
directed education. You need to direct the course of your
student's academic life. Even a great idea like CLEPs
needs to be checked out. So don't forget to make sure
they are going to benefit your student!

In most cases, they will. But make sure!

Once you have verified this fact, you may need to give
your student some added help. That is where we are making
ourselves available to you. If you have a student who is
ready to consider CLEPs, we will come to your area and
teach a CLEP Prep Class in one of several subjects:

Natural Science
College Biology
U.S. History 1
College Algebra (which is the same as Algebra 1)
Introductory Psychology
Introductory Sociology
Western Civilization 1
Freshman College Composition

We will be adding others, but this is a great place to
start.

If you are interested, please contact us right away. We
expect our schedule to start filling up. And for those
of you in Colorado, Virginia, New York, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma . . .

please get to us right away because we are already heading
to your state in the next few of months. We may be able
to combine our current trip with another to your hometown.

But if we don't know you would like us to come, we can't
adjust our schedule. So we really need to hear from you.

Send David an email, or call. But now is the time to
discuss how we can work together.

So square away things with your local group and contact
us as soon as you can. Let us work with you to make your
homeschooling opportunities even better in 2003-2004.

And here's a way your students can study for a CLEP test
very easily, avoid typical problems caused by secular
educators, and get college credit too.

*******************************
FOR ALL YOU UNCONVINCED PARENTS OUT THERE . . .
*******************************

Many times we hear parents say, or hear from others that
parents are saying something like this:

"My Johnny/Suzie isn't old enough for college yet."

or

"There's no way Johnny/Suzie will pass a CLEP at
his/her age."

Or something else to this effect.

But the fact is that your homeschooled student is
DEFINITELY ready for this stuff at the age of 12 to 15,
and ABSOLUTELY ready at 16 or older.

Why can we be so confident? Because of the way your
student as a homeschooler has been taught.

Of course, we are talking specifically about
homeschooled students who have been taught this way
most or all of their lives. Obviously, if this is
your student's first or second year at home, it
may be a bit more of a challenge.

But if your child is a serious homeschooled student
there is little doubt that passing CLEPs will be quite
attainable.

Don't believe us? Then why not just give one a try?
What will it hurt? And here's a package that will
help you to try this approach with little investment.
We think that once you see how simple some of these
CLEPs are to study for and pass, you will be some of
our greatest advocates.

Again we ask . . . Why are we so confident?

Answer: Because our two daughters used these materials
to pass the Sociology CLEP with scores of 65 out of 80!
(Yep, they got the exact same score, coincidentally.)
It's that simple. We know these materials are all your
student needs to study to pass this specific CLEP exam.

So take advantage of this unique offering, and see
what happens. We would love to hear how it goes:

*******************************
A One-of-a-kind CLEP Prep course in Introductory Sociology!
*******************************

Through an exclusive arrangement with Dr. David Noebel
of Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, Colorado, we

well-known author of the New York Times Best-selling
Left Behind series;

chapters on Sociology to supplement the other materials
your student will study for the exam; and

Clergy In The Classroom--a great third worldview
book to give your student a well-rounded Christian
worldview training!

All of these materials will be sent along with the

materials which include:

Homeschool (to help you work through how this CLEP

for high school.

All of these materials are being offered at the very
reasonable price of $50.

That's over $120 in materials! You save over $70!!!

The "Enhanced" package also includes two great books on
"Christian" Sociology:

The Second Mayflower by Kevin Swanson and
If The Foundations Are Destroyed by Dr. Alan Snyder

This package sells for $70. It's over $150 in materials.
You save over $80 with the "Enhanced" package.

And there is no better way to help your homeschooler to
test out of Introductory Sociology . . .

in your home . . .

where you can work with your student as he or she
studies this secular material . . .

with supplemental Biblical worldview material to make sure
that important questions get answered and the proper
perspective is able to be kept in studying this material.

PERSONAL NEED REQUEST . . .

We are traveling to Colorado in a couple of weeks. We would
like to find out if there is a motorhome or camper for rent
that we could use for our trip. We don't have the ability
to put down a couple of thousand dollars up front. But we
would be willing to pay by the week if someone has one you
are open to having us use, or know someone who would. Please
contact us if this is something you can help us with. We
will be traveling from June 16 through 25. Thanks for your
help in finding someone who may help us with this need.
We don't mind driving a bit of a ways to get the vehicle
if we have to, of course. (This obviously applies more to
those of you in the Eastern or Midwest states. If we have
to drive to Colorado to get one, it probably isn't going
to work. Don't you agree?)
