1) Updates
*Wanted: Volunteers to Coordinate Projects
*Know a lot about tools? Love radical literature? Want everything for Free?
Good at making people do stuff in a nice way? Have some time on your hands?
We need people to coordinate projects! This means you would adopt a project
like the tool co-op, free store, infoshop, etc and make sure it has
everything it needs, make sure the stuff is getting done, and think of ways
to make it AWESOME. Remember: you wouldn't be doing everything, you
organize!
Email us with questions!*

Free Store is Open!
Here's the jibajab... **
*Give something, take something! Items can include books, clothes, bedding,
games, computer stuff, electronics, small appliances, kitchenware,
toiletries, household/garden stuff, sports equip, and more!

HOW TO DONATE:
-This is totally run by YOU! Please put your donated items on shelves and
racks where it makes sense.
-No large donations (like furniture – we are very modest in size)
-No large quantities of donations (around a trash bag or less)
-Make sure items are in good condition (nothing too ripped, dirty, broken,
etc.)
-You don't have to give something to take something (but if you got it,
share it!)

Open Mon, Wed, Sat 12-8pm

Legal Fun Time
Short Version: *We are here for longer, but we don't know how much longer.
*Longer Version:* We had our conceptual review a few weeks ago which is
where a bunch of city reps from departments like neighborhood services,
engineering, fire, sewer, zoning, etc etc get together access a business
plan and see if the property is good enough. We were told that because we
were changing our use from "automotive" to (what they defined us as)
"mini-storage" (???) we needed to conform to new "Land Use Standards" which
could include paving all unpaved areas (80% of our lot) installing
sidewalks, etc etc etc. A Mr. Gary Lopez was nice and let us drop all of
that stuff BUT we need to now "Platte" (sp?) our property. This includes
engineered surveys and blue prints that cost much $$$ (like the $15,000 ball
park).

What we found is that this is not a recent doing but we guess the city is
using us a leverage to develop the property, run Laurel st. through our
building, and make some bucks throwing a Walgreen's around here. The legal
sitch (that's situation for short) is now in the hands of our land lord
who's figuring out some stuff.

SO - our legal "sitch" is that the warehouse is balancing on some thin
bureaucratic wire, swaying back and forth between our landlord in the city.
Our plan is to hang out.

*Cupcake Cook Off - Awesome!*
Yes! So good! We made $659 and it's all thanks to the amazing businesses,
organizations, and individuals that made some bad ass cupcakes. So again
again again - THANK YOU to all who baked and ate cupcakes.

*Bike Porn!*
*Sun, November 21st 9pm* *@ Hammer Time!*
*$3-5, Adult Only*
"Bike Porn is a touring film festival of shorts exploring the eroticism and
sexuality of human-powered transportation. Screening this radical and
explicit content in group settings creates a safe space for exploration of
boundaries and obscenity so that we may establish our own standards, rather
than centrist culture imposing their standards upon us. Though Bike Porn we
aim to break taboo, provide a forum for emerging artists to screen their
work, and facilitate cultural acknowledgement of fringe communities."

or simply,

"an evening or DIY bicycle eroticism, provided by bikesexuals the world
around"

"Invisible Children: rough cut" film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long
war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of
abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of
violent army.*

5) How to Volunteer
Volunteer Meetings - We strive to have everyone participate in figuring out
the direction of the projects and how to get them done. Come learn more
about the space and how these decisions are made. Meetings are every Friday
at 6pm.

Regular Volunteers - a "regular" volunteer can pick a 4 hour shift out of
the 2 per day between 12-8p on mon, wed, and sat. peeps can either volunteer
getting stuff done or just doing homework, working on your own projects,
reading infoshop books, cruzin the internet, etc while folks are perusing
the shop. We ask that ya'll come to a few meetings and work parties before
you become a regular volunteer as to learn about how the place operates.

Outreach - One of the most important parts of the projects are letting
people know we are here. A few ways to help out is to hand out/post fliers
and posters, volunteer/create special events, and spread the word! Email us
at hammertimeprojects@xxxxxxxxx to know how you can specifically help.

Stop By! - ‘nough said.
