[haiku] Q: Creating a [haiku-announce] mailing list?

On [haiku-web], Remi mentioned that the Project doesn't have a
mailing list for official announcements, like of R1A2 being released.
Looking for a bit, FreeBSD has such a mailing list *2

Here's the description:
{{{
About freebsd-announce
English (USA)

This is the mailing list for people interested only in occasional
announcements of significant freebsd events. This includes
announcements about snapshots and other releases. It contains
announcements of new FreeBSD capabilities. It may contain calls for
volunteers etc. This is a low volume list.

Posting to this list is strictly limited to messages deemed important
to ALL FreeBSD users.
}}}

Would such a ML be desired?
Should it be moderated, to ensure that only 'significant [haiku]
events' are posted?
