Hello,
I finally compiled Haiku 22448 and I built an image with jam
haiku-vmware-image which creates generated/haiku.image and
generated/haiku.vmdk - both works, I tried the first on qemu-kvm and the
second on vmware.

I made a 100MB partition of type BeOS then I did:

   dd if=generated/haiku.image of=/dev/sda5
   jam run ":<build>makebootable" /dev/sda5

Grub is configured automatically by YaST (I've got a opensuse 10.3):

title Haiku
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)
    chainloader (hd0,4)+1

both commands run fine, then I reboot, Haiku starts but goes in KDL and says
something like PANIC: didn't find a boot partition.

My computer is a AMD 64 x2, 2GB RAM and a nvidia sata controller MCP51 (i
can't find an option to go in compatibility mode in the bios), this is the
lspci output:
