Mmh, with a special Christmas Haiku edition claiming wifi spupport, I would wait until there is wifi security included (aka WPA2), at least. Otherwise it could be more of a nice christmas for your neighbourhood and less for you...On Sat, Sep 26, 2009 at 3:53 AM, Alexandru Stoian <lxstoian@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Reading the haikuware article about a Haiku compatible laptop made me think why not a Haiku netbook similar to what iMica (intel atom nettop) is for AROS. These days there are many Chinese factories producing unbranded Intel atom or the Via c7-m processor. They come with 8.9 , 10 and 12 inch screens. One of these devices can be branded as a Haiku netbook. From what I see wifi will be hopefully coming around Christmas these devices could be sold around that time to raise funds for Haiku. Maybe considered a special edition device marking the arrival of alpha 2 and wifi. This is an example of one of these netbooks and the factory that makes them.
Send me one, I'll test it out for ya ;)
I'll take one, too :)
FWIW, Haiku runs beautifully on my Acer Aspire One AOA150 now - even the experimental wifi works well (although disabling security on my router is... fun). - Urias
