i believe ReiserFS just got attributes now that the linux API was finalized.
it's not in a stable release yet.

however, if you turn off indexing on your BFS partition and then compare
speeds to ReiserFS is it really slower in reads/writes? i remember testing
some
long time ago against other filesystems and testing raw throughput on some
drives,
and BFS was very close to that raw throughput. i believe this was also the
case
with Dominic's benchmarks in his book.

sure, creation and unlinking will be slower.

i think if speed's an issue for someone, create another filesystem or port
XFS/ReiserFS/
ext3 or whatever to R5 and it should work in OBOS, right? ;)
