This is a good idea. I have thought about this, often. I spent the last couple of days building a GUI in BeOS. I found that 1/2 of the GUI builders for BeOS were either unavailable (web site down) or ... unstable. Anyway - sure. Collect every bit of source you can lay your hands on. If the developer needs an NDA, ask them to mail me and we can talk about it. I think that will be a fairly rare case. >Hello, > >as the primary aim of OpenBeOS at this time is to provide source compatibi= >lity, we will have to make sure to have as much source code of apps as pos= >sible=2E Many apps already include source code, but many don't=2E As I am = >at this time not possible to contribute by coding, I would offer to take o= >ver the part of collecting source code=2E That is not as complicated as lo= >ng as it means downloading from BeBits or developers' sites, but when it c= >omes to discontinued apps or closed source apps, we need another solution=2E= > So we would for example need some kind of form, like an NDA, coming from = >the OpenBeOS team "officially", in which we assure the developer not to gi= >ve away the source code and only use it for the purpose of compiling the a= >pps under OpenBeOS=2E What do you think about that idea?
