Firefox needs to be launched by a script to start unless you do some hacks like 
moving libs around,
so while firefox understand and should handle them, it can't start, as that 
would require a launchable binary.

As long as we are using the Firefox brand we can't do that manually.

But that's exactly what I did for the optional Firefox package. It's such a re-arranged package so that the binary can be started directly. I don't believe that the kludge with the script is in the interest of the Firefox brand ;-). Anyways, I thought you would be aware of what the optional Firefox package looked like in Haiku.
