He has been around for a very long time and he is trying to help with the
Media Kit currently. Unfortunately none of the devs feel comfortable enough
with the current codebase of the media kit to review his patches (see for
example https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/11852#comment:11 , there are a few
other tickets in a similar situation).
