I have been unsuccessful utilizing the makebootable utility to make a Haiku partition bootable. I just want to make sure I am doing things right before I submit a bug report. Steps: 1) dd the latest Haiku image to a usb stick 2) partition the drive on the target system as follows: Hard drive ATA EIDE Partition 1 type EB 80Gb 3) boot the flash drive with Haiku 4) format the target partition as BeFS in Haiku 5) run the installer from the within the bin directory to install the os. (to make sure the installer finds makebootable) 6) run makebootable on the mounted drive path for good measure after the installation. 7) run bootman to install the MBR 8) reboot, the bootmanager on the target drive MBR works. 9) when I select the Haiku partition on the target system i get a blinking cursor. 10) when I try to boot the Haiku partition with Smart Boot manager, i get a blinking cursor. 11) when I boot the system from the original usb flash drive, enter the boot menu via space and select the target (IDE) drive as the location to boot the system boots fine. Ideas? Thanks! --Alex
