Extensions for Display Adapters' appendix in the Acpi Specification [1]:
Under 'B.3.2 _DOD (Enumerate All Devices Attached to the Display Adapter)'
there is quite a good explanation, and definition of how ACPI enumerate
displays.
It's quite informative.
There is also a beginning of a driver for this under
src/add-ons/kernel/drivers/display.
It enumerates displays found in the ACPI tree but not much else atm. I got
sidetracked with UEFI.
