[haiku-development] New Terminal windows open in current directory, bug or feature?

When you open a new terminal window (or tab) the new window set to the
same directory as the previous Terminal window/tab.

This behavior is different from every OS with a Terminal I know,
including BeOS 5 (I checked). What normally happens is that new
Terminal windows open in some default location, usually your home
directory.

Is this behavior of opening in the same directory an intentional
deviation from other operating systems (a feature) or just a byproduct
of the way Terminal was implemented (a bug)?

If it's a feature, fine, I'd like to hear the rationale, but, if it's
a bug, I'd like to fix it.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
John Scipione
