And a little digging and you'd see that espeak is already on BeBits...
if it doesn't work on Haiku, it's shouldn't be too tough to port it.
I've posted a portlog entry for it in case anyone wants to post the
build steps there. There's now over 40 devs signed up over at
HaikuPorts...
