Depending on the state, it may be a good idea to not actually make this
part of Beta1 - I suspect there were good reasons for not merging it to
trunk yet.
The work on getting it up to date and evaluating its state is useful and
it's great that you are working on that. It could also be one of the
first steps towards R2.
