While I don't think we'd want a totally "open mike" hour for small talk, having virtual talks/workshops with a Q&A sessions sounds very nice to me. This has been done once at BG with Christof Lutteroth. I wasn't there and don't know how much effort that took. I don't think we'll manage that for this BG. But, theoretically, when packaged into a nice presentation, I could see this happening in the future. Mind you, this is just my personal opinion.
