I havn't reviewed the patches, but using clang in that way and fixing problems suggests he is a skilled developer. However we also look for is a good deal of knowledge on how Haiku works and operates. As a developer you have a say in many things that affect Haiku so you should already know and understand it well. Therefore I think it is a bit early for Murai Takashi to become a commiter. However patches, emails to this list, discussions on #haiku on IRC that shows his understanding of Haiku and interest in Haiku is the right tools to show others he should become a commiter. The fast track to becoming a commiter is probably a bigger changeset that shows a good understanding of Haiku (such as BLooper, BMessage and/or other Haiku specifics) that adds or improves features. Or discussing and being able to argue about how to implement something in Haiku OS on this email list (and hopefully help implementing it). It also helps if you are a nice guy/girl. (Oh, and we are a bit unorganized when it comes to handling persons who may be interested in becoming commiters, so if it is in your interest and you have done a bit of work already you might want to ask on this list how to proceed.) /Fredrik Holmqvist, TQH
