Isn't the space before fps missed?

That was on purpose. IIRC, there is usually no space between a value and
its unit in English, or is there?

I looked it up when writing a journal paper recently, and the recommended style in latex was "\," which is some space, but slightly smaller than typical word spacing. If you were to spell it out, there would definitely be a space ("30 seconds") but I'd say for unit abbreviations the no-space version ("30s") is probably more common.

I don't think it really matters though! I often notice those who learn English as a foreign language know rules about the language that I've never come across before... I don't think English is particularly rigid as far as rule-following goes.
