That would be something to consider if we actually do a release that 
contains the current localization progress. Once that is certain, and 
there is no font overlay yet, a work-around like this would be a good 
solution.

It certainly wouldn't hurt.

It should only take a couple of days to implement it properly, so I 
don't think it would make a worthwhile GSoC project.
