Okay, to reply. I am against changing history, which is done by
changing the svn log messages. These changes aren't logged; they
overwrite the previous log message. I think part of the openness is a
complete transparency in history, but I am a purist and I seem to be
the only one that considers it should be this strict. So whether or
not you want to change the log message is up to you.

The way you handled it right now also works.
