Thanks for clarifying the current practice regarding singing off in the Haiku 
project.
My reason for using it is mainly convenience. Due to having to use it on my 
regular job I am just accustomed to it. There we are working a lot with OpenWRT 
and thus have adopted their workflow and meaning of a sign-off ([1]).
