IRC user OmniMancer found the problem why the m68k buildtools fail to
build on 32-bit Linux systems; 'configure' tries to create some 64-bit
libraries.
This can be worked around by installing, in my case, the libc6-dev-amd64
meta package, but that's not a very elegant solution.
Google tells me there might be a --disable-multilib option available that
we possibly could pass to GCC somehow.
