I've been unable to pinpoint the cause of the USB failure. The operator is
okay, and the ELF section loading in the boot loader is shared with x86
and does clear BSS beyond {{{filesz}}}. Possibly stack corruption or some
alignment issue?
It is no longer reliably reproducible.
