This enhancement patch was created before our discussion on ML and I think
it's no more valid, as I've started to work on a different approach (as
you have proposed). So feel free to close it as non applicable.
As a side note: While I agree that devices should be picked by
capabilities in general, I'd also like to see an usage of an device (an
application more precisely) being presented in some way to the user (of
the new framework of course).
