Hi,

A knowledge of braille is assumed or inferred when a file has been
back-translated from braille. Such files are best read on braille
note-takers or on braille-aware devices or displays, or brailled in hard
copy. The problem may be in that they were converted from contracted
braille files, which are usually compiled according to the contracted (or
grade 2) braille code format. Thus, while it is relatively easy for a
translation program like NFBTrans or Duxbury braille Translator to convert
from print or text to braille, back conversion from braille-to-text is
error-prone owing to the prescriptives in use because of the fairly limited
number of braille grade 2 contractions and shortforms, and ambiguities
presented.

Subject: [guispeak] Good text reader for use with windows XP

A friend is using JFW with windows XP and has a fair amount of dificulty
reading converted text files that were once braille files. Can anyone
recommend a good reader or editor to make the text come out better for
reading?

I am not a JFW user and do not understand his problem very well.

Any suggestions?
