Coronation Street You can't keep a good woman down. Certainly not if that woman is Becky McDonald carrying a righteous grievance. This week, Becky determines that she's not going to let Tracy besmirch her good name (goodish, apart from the alcoholism, stealing etc) in Weatherfield. She's going to prove that Tracy didn't lose her twins when she fell down the stairs. First, she keeps nipping away at Deirdre, knowing that lying about the miscarriage will be causing her anguish. But Deirdre won't betray her own daughter, no matter what she has done. So it seems Becky has run up against a dead end. But little does she know that her new man Danny is going to pass on the information that will make her clear her name. When saying goodbye to Becky after a very successful date, he spots Tracy and tells her he was the person who called the ambulance when she lost her babies - the day before she fell down the stairs. Proof! Unfortunately, she can't just tell Steve as he doesn't really know or like Danny. Becky's search for concrete evidence means she decides she has to get hold of Tracy's medical records and so... decides to break into the health centre. You know a plan's not going too well when Kylie reckons it is too ridiculous. Fortunately, Kylie talks her out of it and instead they recruit former receptionist Gail to get some inside info. It's then a more subtle plan - just a matter of Kylie faking a faint to distract Doctor Carter while Becky sneaks in and displays hitherto unseen computer skills to get hold of the records. Mission accomplished. But what will she do with the proof ? particularly after Danny gets a job in Barbados and asks her to start a new life with him there? See you at the wedding Becky. See you at the wedding. Also this week: Rita and Gail, who know a bit about dating psychopaths, attempt to warn Sally off getting closer to Frank Foster. But obviously this makes her all the more determined to continue seeing him. Silly Sally. EastEnders We're not quite learned enough to say which play would be the right one ? but there's the definite whiff of Shakespeare around Phil Mitchell this week. (Perhaps a cross between King Lear and Hamlet?) Anyway. It looks like he's going to be betrayed by his only son ? and taken down for a crime he didn't commit. There's a lot he could be nicked for and DCI Marsden has become determined to be the copper who finally puts him inside. She gets together with Denise but decides that they don't have enough to charge him for the murder of Kevin Wicks or the car lot fire. So instead, she goes after him for the death of Stella. After witnessing Phil bullying Ben at the Arches, Marsden happens upon the idea that he might be the weak link in the Mitchell chain. She gets him down to the station with his sibling Ian as his chaperone. When they begin talking about Stella, Ben is perturbed. Her abuse turned him into the troubled young man he is today. He finds it hard to watch the shaky CCTV of her just before her death, the footage which had previously cleared Phil. When Marsden continues to push him on what Phil said about her death he becomes increasingly confused. She wants him to say that Phil talked Stella into jumping. Later, Ben tells Ian he doesn't want Stella back in his head and doesn't even want to think about her. Ian suggests telling Marsden that Phil said it was suicide and moving on. But when Phil finds out Ben has been to the station he's furious. Will his anger drive Ben into an act of huge betrayal? Also this week: Still mourning Pat, Bianca decides to call an end to her marriage to Ricky. Emmerdale The furore over Marlon may have died down a little after Laurel and Ashley renew their vows ? but it's still casting a shadow over their marriage. Particularly when Laurel thinks she might be pregnant ? and Ashley thinks it must be Marlon's. The tension is high at the start of the week when Ashley reveals he's got a job in a new parish in Leeds. Laurel thinks it could be a good, fresh start but to their frustration Sandy refuses to leave the village. Laurel argues with him but has more important things to worry about ? she's concerned she's pregnant. After a worrying period where she panics and tells Nicola she can't handle it, she comes round to the idea ? a baby could bring Ashley and her together again. But when Ashley finds her with the test, his face says it all. He thinks the child would be Marlon's. And when Laurel sees he's relieved to hear the test is negative it's the final straw. She tells Ashley they should split up if they can't trust each other and storms off without telling him where she's going and he's left to deal with the kids alone. Isn't it time you read one of your sermons on forgiveness, Ashley?
