I have a similar way of dealing with those cold calls, Senn.
Yes, I know we can get our number on the telephone preference list, but some
calls seep through.
OK, the conversation might go as follows:

"Hello, Mr Liddell, may I ask you a couple of questions?"
Me - "Yes, of course. That's one."
"Pardon, sir?"
Me - "That's two. thanks; goodbye!"
That makes me feel good!
The other type was brilliant.
A firm called, asking if I was interested in car insurance.
Being a sort of curious chap, I answered that I was.
We then got into a twenty minute conversation regarding the clauses of the
policy.
At last, I asked...
"Can I ask a question?"
"Yes, by all means, sir."
"Does it matter that I'm blind?"

He hung up for some reason!

ALERT!

Jim,
I will have to try that, thanks for the idea.
They really drive me up the wall!
I must of had at least six calls from them each time its slightly different.
There is no way I would let them have access to my laptop.
Senn.
