as usual the three of us have been busy , just been going through the diary
dates for the next few weeks and it is getting more full up by the day, last
week was the usual hectic comings and goings for us, one evening went to the
local college with a friend to see what courses they could offer for visually
impaired students, they mostly have examination courses, mostly to get A level
or NVQ level such as business degrees , all sorts of things like training to be
a motor mechanic, hairdresser, builder or media studies, not very practical for
me with no sight, didn't have language courses, asked about science as it was
my best subject at school but they weren't sure if I could do any chemical
experiments, started to feel it was a waste of time, they didn't understand
about using speech software or other gadgets to help me with learning, asked
them about audio text books for me to access but they only had a few in braille
which was no use to me, not sure what to do as hate being bored, the powers that
be want us to go back to work but what opportunities are out there, never mind,
didn't sign up for any classes as they didn't seen to know how to help me, have
to try something else, any ideas ha ha, Vanessa x x
