Hi everyone,
Just e-mailing to let you know that we have finally broken ground on our
house at 2nd and Cascadilla Street!
Our goal with this project is this: out of love for God and God's creation,
and all our neighbors near and far, to create a house in downtown Ithaca which
will enable us to live simply and sustainably.
The house will be about 1300 Square Feet with about 200 SF outdoor living
area.
Foundation: Durisol insulating concrete forms.
Walls: The 2 story frame will have double stud walls of local lumber with
cellulose insulation (R32).
Floors: local wood
Exterior finish: Stucco
Roof: metal
Heat: Masonry stove, passive solar
Electricity: Grid tied PV
Hot water: Solar preheated
I'll be e-mailing updates and requests for information & help as things
develop.
