Sure is Zach, and depending on the platform you are running on background announcements could still be heard.
Sendero GPS on a BrailleNote will allow you to task switch backandforth between different applications and GPS but you won't getanyautomatic announcements when GPS is not the current application. Mobile Geo and SenseNavigation can also task switchtoother applications and I believe you can either query forinformationand or automatically get updates about upcoming turns etc when following a route for example.
