I rarely change the setting under GPS options to long street names. However, on a trip today in Southern California, I found it useful to have long street names set. There are many freeways which have a number plus a name based upon the area they are passing through. For example, Interstate 5 might be called I5 in many places in California but the Santa Anna Freeway when it passes through Orange County. It might be something else when it is in San Diego. The freeway signs may use the highway number but the BrailleNote might use the local name or visa versa. When you have the GPS Options set to long street names, you hear both the number and the name for the freeway. This came in very handy while navigating The 91 and the 15 in Southern California today. You might also want to keep this in mind when you are the co-pilot on freeways you are not familiar with. Mike Michael G.
