Hi John,

No this is on topic :)

History.hdb was added in the 2010 release which has your last 25 locations
you have virtually gone to, GPS starting locations, destination you have set
etc. If the file is deleted the system will automatically start a new
History file. I am confused where you would have seen the message "can not
find the History Database". You may have heard "No History available." This
will happen if you delete your History.hdb file and have not set your
virtual position or have a GPS position and then tried to access your
History list which is still empty, but other than that this us the only
thing I can think of which are even remotely possible with what you
described. As soon as you set a virtual position, destination or get a GPS
fix your History database should be recreated and will automatically start
filling up with positions as you set your virtual postion/destination etc.

Thanks.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] history database file

Hi,
This is slightly off topic but I can make anything fit within the
email list confines!
I was putting the new Orange County bus stop information into my maps
folder. See, where already back on topic!

I came across a file called history.hdb which I would assume stands
for history database.
Does the Gps maps have such a file? I never noticed it before.
the reason I'm curious is that After restoring files to my apex last
weekend, I've had to do a reset a couple of times and I keep getting
the message Cannot find the History Database.
If, the gps folder doesn't have the history database in it, perhaps I
accidently put it there by mistake?
If so I need to move it and put it where it belongs somewhere on my
apex. If that is indeed what I do need to do, in which folder do I put it?
You can write me off list if you choose.
thanks!
John
