Third party cookies are used for session keys so that the Sendero website knows who is logging in during a session so that someone else doesn't hijack your connection and access the Sendero website.

So what happens is.
1. You type in your user name/password.
2. Sendero sends you back a cookie to use for that session.
3. When you are inside the Download website your browser sends back this cookie to Sendero so it knows you are still asking for files etc and not someone else. 4. After you log out or after a period of time of non-use the cookie on the Sendero web server is deleted so that your cookie on your machine no longer works and you must re-login and obtain a new cookie to use.

Hope this clears up why we need cookies. It is really for security reasons and authentication purposes.

Thanks
Charles

I was unable to log into the mysendero maps and software download site until I re-enabled third-party cookies in Firefox. I have third-party cookies turned off to prevent some advertising/malware sites from being able to get to my machine without my knowing it, and am puzzled why mysendero would need third-party cookies activated to log in.
