[gps-talkusers] First time out with the M-1000

I also fell victim to the lure of a low priced M-1000. I used it today during my usual ride to work. It was really quite a treat compared to the Slim 236 which I always thought was already good. It acquired seven satellites almost immediately upon leaving my home. About a minute after that, it reported ten foot accuracy with WAAS and ten satellites which it kept though the whole twelve mile trip to my office. Even though the route is known to my driver, it was very gratifying to have it anticipate the distance and time to the turns with what seemed like new precision. This is the best $44 I"ve spent in a long time.

Hey is there an archive of the chats? Would like to hear what motivated your wallet.
Thanks.

Well, guys, remembering to participate in the GPS chat can do wonders to the pocketbook. <grin> I told those online that I'm still using an Earthmate, and they all talked about how wonderful the Holux is and how much more quickly it acquires satellites, so I decided to order one. The Sendero site just said "Holux", so I'm hoping it's the M1000. But it will be fun to have it for our upcoming trip to Monterey in a couple weeks.
