Maybe we should modify the file opening code so that for multiple
episodes they are always sorted in chronological order? I don't see why
this should be a problem, as (as you said) most people would want to
listen to episodes from oldest to newest.
Can you please open a feature request for this at bugs.gpodder.org?
(Ideally also attaching a patch, but it's not mandatory ;)
