Kevin,

Good suggestion, only it =3D3D didn’t help in this case.  I enabled all of the inputs for both interfaces in =3D= 3D=3D Cuemix.  Is that the same as unmuting?  If so, no go.  The Mk3 interface =3D= 3D=3D in Audiowire port 1 works fine.  The Mk2 in Audiowire port 2 gives me no input =3D= 3D=3D or output.  I even tried selecting the bus main as the analog 1-2 for the 2408= =3D =3D3D Mk2 also and this didn’t work either.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Laurie

    You'll need a sighted assistant to check this out.  It = =3D =3D3D may be the case that when you connect your mk3 to audio wire 2, that the inputs= =3D =3D3D on your cue mix console are all muted.  Have a sighted assistant make = =3D =3D3D sure that all your cue mix inputs are unmuted.  In your case, that will mean = =3D =3D3D all 48 of them for two boxes.  When you reverse the order of the two boxes= =3D =3D3D on the PCI424,  you essentially create a second virgin profile where all =3D= 3D=3D the inputs on cue mix and the main output are muted until a sighted person =3D= 3D=3D unmutes them.  Also, you'll have to click on the main out and make sure =3D= 3D=3D that it is set to the Analog outs 1&2 on the correct 2408 box.  Again, =3D= 3D=3D with each "reversal" a new profile is created and a new output =3D3D assignment will have to be checked.  this does require sight initially but will be = =3D =3D3D stable once done.

Hi guys,<= /p=3D >

I’m hoping someon= e =3D =3D3D has an idea here.  I’m running Sonar 4 Producer Edition with Windows XP =3D= 3D=3D home sp2.  I have a P4 processor, 3.2ghz with 1g of ram.  If I =3D3= D connect a Motu 2408 Mk3 to audiowire port 1 on the Pci-424 card, everything work =3D= 3D=3D just great when I ask Sonar to echo input.  But when I plug my Motu 2408= =3D =3D3D Mk2 into Audiowire port 2 and ask Sonar to echo input through it, I get =3D3= D nothing.  I’ve gone through all the steps correctly, as far as I can =3D= 3D=3D see to install the Pci-424 card correctly.  I even upgraded the drivers to= =3D =3D3D the latest ones from the Motu website, the ones from 11/11/04.  This is= =3D =3D3D the first time I’ve had the need to hook up two breakout boxes to the = =3D =3D3D same card.  Motu says this can be done as long as the newer interface is= =3D =3D3D first.  Also, just to try something, I tried connecting the older =3D3D interface first.  That works and then the Mk3 no longer gives me any input =3D= 3D=3D echo.  I’m using the analog inputs and outputs on the two =3D3D interfaces.  Anyone have any ides how I can get the two to coexist together and= =3D =3D3D echo input?  I need more mic preamps than I have on my Mackie Onyx 1620 = =3D =3D3D mixer.  I have an Octopre 8-channel mic preamp which I was going to =3D3D connect via the analog inputs on the older 2408 Mk2 unit.

Thanks for any =3D3D suggestions!

Laurie

Laurie,

    You'll need a&n= =3D bsp;sighted assistant to check this out. &= =3D nbsp;It may be the =3D3D
case
that when&n= bs=3D p;you connect your mk3 to audio wire = =3D 2, that the inputs on your =3D3D
cuem=3D ix console are all muted.  Have a&nbs= =3D p;sighted assistant make sure that all =3D= 3D=3D
your
cue mix inputs are unmuted.  I= =3D n your case, that will mean all 48&nb= =3D sp;of them =3D3D
for
two boxes.  When&nbs= p;=3D you reverse the order of the two boxe= =3D s on the PCI424,  =3D3D
you
essentially&n= bs=3D p;create a second virgin profile where all= =3D  the inputs on cue =3D3D
mix
and the= &n=3D bsp;main output are muted until a sighted&= =3D nbsp;person unmutes them.  =3D3D
Also,
you'll&= nb=3D sp;have to click on the main out and&= =3D nbsp;make sure that it is set to the<= =3D BR>Analog outs 1&2 on the correct 2408= =3D  box.  Again, with each "reversal" a&= =3D nbsp;=3D3D
new
profile is created and a n= ew=3D  output assignment will have to be ch= =3D ecked.
this does require sight initially but= =3D  will be stable once done. =3D3D20

Kevin,

=3D3D20

Good suggestion, only it didn't help in this case.  I enabled all of the=
=3D

inputs for both interfaces in Cuemix.  Is that the same as unmuting?  If=
=3D
 =3D3D
so,
no go.  The Mk3 interface in Audiowire port 1 works fine.  The Mk2 in
Audiowire port 2 gives me no input or output.  I even tried selecting =3D=
3D=3D

the
bus main as the analog 1-2 for the 2408 Mk2 also and this didn't work
either.

=3D3D20

Any other ideas?

=3D3D20

Thanks!

=3D3D20

Laurie,

    You'll need a sighted assistant to check this out.  It may be the =3D=
3D=3D

case
that when you connect your mk3 to audio wire 2, that the inputs on your =
=3D
=3D3D
cue
mix console are all muted.  Have a sighted assistant make sure that all =
=3D
=3D3D
your
cue mix inputs are unmuted.  In your case, that will mean all 48 of them=
=3D
 =3D3D
for
two boxes.  When you reverse the order of the two boxes on the PCI424,  =
=3D
=3D3D
you
essentially create a second virgin profile where all the inputs on cue =3D=
3D=3D

mix
and the main output are muted until a sighted person unmutes them.  =3D3=
D
Also,
you'll have to click on the main out and make sure that it is set to the=
=3D

Analog outs 1&2 on the correct 2408 box.  Again, with each "reversal" a =
=3D
=3D3D
new
profile is created and a new output assignment will have to be checked.
this does require sight initially but will be stable once done. =3D3D20

Subject: [ddots-l] Motu Pci-424 audiowire ports not working.

Hi guys,

=3D3D20

I'm hoping someone has an idea here.  I'm running Sonar 4 Producer =3D3D=

Edition
with Windows XP home sp2.  I have a P4 processor, 3.2ghz with 1g of ram.=
=3D
 =3D3D
 If
I connect a Motu 2408 Mk3 to audiowire port 1 on the Pci-424 card,
everything work just great when I ask Sonar to echo input.  But when I =3D=
3D=3D

plug
my Motu 2408 Mk2 into Audiowire port 2 and ask Sonar to echo input =3D3D=

through
it, I get nothing.  I've gone through all the steps correctly, as far as=
=3D
 =3D3D
I
can see to install the Pci-424 card correctly.  I even upgraded the =3D3=
D
drivers
to the latest ones from the Motu website, the ones from 11/11/04.  This =
=3D
=3D3D
is
the first time I've had the need to hook up two breakout boxes to the =3D=
3D=3D

same
card.  Motu says this can be done as long as the newer interface is =3D3=
D
first.
Also, just to try something, I tried connecting the older interface =3D3=
D
first.
That works and then the Mk3 no longer gives me any input echo.  I'm =3D3=
D
using
the analog inputs and outputs on the two interfaces.  Anyone have any =3D=
3D=3D

ides
how I can get the two to coexist together and echo input?  I need more =3D=
3D=3D

mic
preamps than I have on my Mackie Onyx 1620 mixer.  I have an Octopre
8-channel mic preamp which I was going to connect via the analog inputs =
=3D
=3D3D
on
the older 2408 Mk2 unit.

=3D3D20

Thanks for any suggestions!

=3D3D20

Laurie

here. &nbsp;I&#8217;m running Sonar 4 Producer Edition with Windows XP =3D=

D
connect a
Motu 2408 Mk3 to audiowire port 1 on the Pci-424 card, everything work =3D=
3D=3D

just
great when I ask Sonar to echo input. &nbsp;But when I plug my Motu 2408=
=3D
 =3D3D

into Audiowire port 2 and ask Sonar to echo input through it, I get =3D3=

nothing.
&nbsp;I&#8217;ve gone through all the steps correctly, as far as I can =3D=

see to
install the Pci-424 card correctly. &nbsp;I even upgraded the drivers to=
=3D
 =3D3D
the
latest ones from the Motu website, the ones from 11/11/04. &nbsp;This is=

 =3D3D
the
first time I&#8217;ve had the need to hook up two breakout boxes to the =

same
card. &nbsp;Motu says this can be done as long as the newer interface is=
=3D

first.
&nbsp;Also, just to try something, I tried connecting the older =3D3D
interface
first. &nbsp;That works and then the Mk3 no longer gives me any input =3D=

echo.
&nbsp;I&#8217;m using the analog inputs and outputs on the two =3D3D
interfaces.
&nbsp;Anyone have any ides how I can get the two to coexist together and=
=3D
 =3D3D
echo
input? &nbsp;I need more mic preamps than I have on my Mackie Onyx 1620 =
=3D

mixer.
&nbsp;I have an Octopre 8-channel mic preamp which I was going to =3D3D
connect via
the analog inputs on the older 2408 Mk2 unit.</span></font></p>
