Laurie,
You'll need a&n=
=3D
bsp;sighted assistant to check this out. &=
=3D
nbsp;It may be the =3D3D
case
that when&n=
bs=3D
p;you connect your mk3 to audio wire =
=3D
2, that the inputs on your =3D3D
cue
m=3D
ix console are all muted. Have a&nbs=
=3D
p;sighted assistant make sure that all =3D=
3D=3D
your
cue mix inputs are unmuted. I=
=3D
n your case, that will mean all 48&nb=
=3D
sp;of them =3D3D
for
two boxes. When&nbs=
p;=3D
you reverse the order of the two boxe=
=3D
s on the PCI424, =3D3D
you
essentially&n=
bs=3D
p;create a second virgin profile where all=
=3D
the inputs on cue =3D3D
mix
and the=
&n=3D
bsp;main output are muted until a sighted&=
=3D
nbsp;person unmutes them. =3D3D
Also,
you'll&=
nb=3D
sp;have to click on the main out and&=
=3D
nbsp;make sure that it is set to the<=
=3D
BR>Analog outs 1&2 on the correct 2408=
=3D
box. Again, with each "reversal" a&=
=3D
nbsp;=3D3D
new
profile is created and a n=
ew=3D
output assignment will have to be ch=

this does require sight initially but=
=3D
will be stable once done. =3D3D20

Hi guys,
=3D3D20=3D
I'm hoping someone has an idea here.&n=
=3D
bsp; I'm running Sonar 4 Producer =3D3D
E=3D
dition
with Windows XP home sp2. I&nbs=
=3D
p;have a P4 processor, 3.2ghz with 1g =
=3D
;of ram. =3D3D
If
I connect a Motu&=
nb=3D
sp;2408 Mk3 to audiowire port 1 on th=
=3D
e Pci-424 card,
everything work just great&n=
=3D
bsp;when I ask Sonar to echo input. &=
=3D
nbsp;But when I =3D3D
plug
my Motu 2408&n=
bs=3D
p;Mk2 into Audiowire port 2 and ask S=
=3D
onar to echo input =3D3D
through
it, I&nb=
sp=3D
;get nothing. I've gone through all =
=3D
the steps correctly, as far as =3D3D
I<=
BR=3D
>can see to install the Pci-424 card =
=3D
correctly. I even upgraded the =3D3D
d=
ri=3D
vers
to the latest ones from the Motu&n=
=3D
bsp;website, the ones from 11/11/04. This=
=3D
=3D3D
is
the first time I've had th=
e&=3D
nbsp;need to hook up two breakout boxes&nb=
=3D
sp;to the =3D3D
same
card. Motu says&nbs=
p;=3D
this can be done as long as the =
=3D
newer interface is =3D3D
first.
Also, just&nbs=
p;=3D
to try something, I tried connecting the&n=
=3D
bsp;older interface =3D3D
first.
That works an=
d&=3D
nbsp;then the Mk3 no longer gives me =
=3D
any input echo. I'm =3D3D
using
the =
;a=3D
nalog inputs and outputs on the two i=
=3D
nterfaces. Anyone have any =3D3D
ides
ho=
w&=3D
nbsp;I can get the two to coexist tog=
=3D
ether and echo input? I need more&nb=
=3D
sp;=3D3D
mic
preamps than I have on my&nb=
sp=3D
;Mackie Onyx 1620 mixer. I have an&n=
=3D

8-channel mic preamp which I was=

going to connect via the analog inpu=

the older 2408 Mk2 unit.

Kevin,
=3D3D20
Good suggestion, only it didn't help in this case. I enabled all of the=
=3D
inputs for both interfaces in Cuemix. Is that the same as unmuting? If=
=3D
=3D3D
so,
no go. The Mk3 interface in Audiowire port 1 works fine. The Mk2 in
Audiowire port 2 gives me no input or output. I even tried selecting =3D=
3D=3D
the
bus main as the analog 1-2 for the 2408 Mk2 also and this didn't work
either.
=3D3D20
Any other ideas?
=3D3D20
Thanks!

=3D3D20
Laurie,
You'll need a sighted assistant to check this out. It may be the =3D=
3D=3D
case
that when you connect your mk3 to audio wire 2, that the inputs on your =
=3D
=3D3D
cue
mix console are all muted. Have a sighted assistant make sure that all =
=3D
=3D3D
your
cue mix inputs are unmuted. In your case, that will mean all 48 of them=
=3D
=3D3D
for
two boxes. When you reverse the order of the two boxes on the PCI424, =
=3D
=3D3D
you
essentially create a second virgin profile where all the inputs on cue =3D=
3D=3D
mix
and the main output are muted until a sighted person unmutes them. =3D3=
D
Also,
you'll have to click on the main out and make sure that it is set to the=
=3D
Analog outs 1&2 on the correct 2408 box. Again, with each "reversal" a =
=3D
=3D3D
new
profile is created and a new output assignment will have to be checked.
this does require sight initially but will be stable once done. =3D3D20

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone has an idea here. I'm running Sonar 4 Producer =3D3D=

with Windows XP home sp2. I have a P4 processor, 3.2ghz with 1g of ram.=

=3D3D
If
I connect a Motu 2408 Mk3 to audiowire port 1 on the Pci-424 card,
everything work just great when I ask Sonar to echo input. But when I =3D=
3D=3D
plug
my Motu 2408 Mk2 into Audiowire port 2 and ask Sonar to echo input =3D3D=
through
it, I get nothing. I've gone through all the steps correctly, as far as=
=3D
=3D3D
I
can see to install the Pci-424 card correctly. I even upgraded the =3D3=

drivers
to the latest ones from the Motu website, the ones from 11/11/04. This =
=3D
=3D3D
is
the first time I've had the need to hook up two breakout boxes to the =3D=
3D=3D

card. Motu says this can be done as long as the newer interface is =3D3=

Also, just to try something, I tried connecting the older interface =3D3=

first.
That works and then the Mk3 no longer gives me any input echo. I'm =3D3=

using
the analog inputs and outputs on the two interfaces. Anyone have any =3D=

the older 2408 Mk2 unit.
=3D3D20
