Dear developers and users of GNUKhata.
Off late we had some issue with providing you the latest version of GNUKhata <gnukhata.in>
It has not been so due to lak of development but we don't have updated packages.
It is also obvious that doing Deb packaging has not been the domain of our core team members, so Praveen, an official debian developer takes the responsibility.
But for rapid packaging and fast delivery we are deciding upon a system which will strike a balance between using existing deb packages for the dependencies and giving the latest stable release of GNUKhata wich might take time for reaching in a so called Stable version of Debian due to the policy guidelines they have.
There will be an installer which you can click and it will download the necessary dependencies using sudo apt-get install etc.
Then our GNUKhata tar will be extracted and installed followed by the frontend jar file and related stuff which is not there in the Debian or Ubuntu repos.
We will soon release such an installer after some testing.
We earlier had a self extracting archive but it had several problems so we have found this middle ground.
We will also create a similar off line installer soon.
So keep an eye on the user's mailing list for the said installer which you will be able to download from GNUKhata's web site <gnukhata.in>
happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
