The installer is a 64 bit one.

We are using docker since we don't have the skillset for deb packaging and it is a long process to get the packages in the approved repo of Debian.

Docker helps in getting things up quick and fast.

The reason your setup did not work is that you probably have apache or some other server running along side GNUKhata.

So both the servres might be fighting for getting the port 80.

If you can just confirm if there is some thing else running on port 80, then I can help.

Happy hacking.

Krishnakant.

Tried it on Ubuntu 16.10, 64-bit, I did get GNU katha icon in my launcher, when I clicked it, it opened browser pointing to local host and nothing was in that page. Wondering if some server must be started at the backend?

got it running, I could start contributing in some way.

Are you using a 32-bit machine?
The installer works only on 64 bit ones as of now.

Dear all GNUKhata users, clients and developers.

It gives me immense pleasure like never before to give this
        news to you.

As the subject line says, we are releasing GNUKhata version 4
by the month end (29th March 2017) to be precise.

Version for is a high breed enterprise ready accounting and
        inventory software.

You can see the preview of the features to come at our
        project page <gitlab.com/gnukhata/gkwebapp/milestones/10
        <http://gitlab.com/gnukhata/gkwebapp/milestones/10>> and try
our demo from <gnukhata.in <http://gnukhata.in>> if you are
        more curious.

We will have account and inventory integration beginning by
        this version.

We also have an account balance update while creating
        transactions.

Becides all these enhancements, We have a lot of new reports
in Inventory module, such as unbilled delivery Chalans, stock
on hand report, product wise and godown wise stock statement etc.

We also have an activity log report.

Apart from these there are several refinements to existing
        product and category system.

We may also have a couple of surprise features which we had
initially decided to do but then they were not complete so we
thought of keeping them on stand-by.

For beginners there will be context sensitive help on every
        screen.

A complete new manual is also being completed by Mr. Kelkar.

All in all this is a major release in a true sence.

        Happy hacking.

        Krishnakant.
