Regner T While looking at recent pictures of Phoenix, I wondered at the length of the shadows (bearing in mind the 68 deg N latitude). Then the thought that the angle of the sunlight will vary by ~48 deg with the season and this made me aware that I cannot recall ever seeing data on the current season. Given the opportunity, I'd have thought that a summer landing would be preferred but of course launch windows are not synchronised with Mars seasons. Do you have knowledge of the current northern hemisphere season? I did look quickly but didn't get any hits. Finally, the pictures shown so far do not appear to show the solar cell arrays set at an angle to the south which surprised me. Comments?
