On a related note, it is significant that the book "Mach's Principle: From Newton's Bucket to Quantum Gravity" (2nd printing 1996) has dropped in price on Amazon, down to USD $74.76. It was loitering in the low $90s and high $80s for many months. I picked up a copy last week once it dropped. Highly recommended for any interested in the latest that Julian Barbour has to say (he edited this compendium).
