Aliens snowballing
US interview causes new book to surge in secular market
The last Infobytes alerted you to the three-hour interview with AiGâ??s
Gary Bates on the US secular radio show Coast-to-Coast. This was carried on
hundreds of affiliate stations to millions of listeners. We now want to share
our excitement about the results.
The reason he had been invited onto this â??UFO-friendlyâ?? show was the
secular curiosity aroused by his new book Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the
evolution connection. The bookâ??s whole purpose is to be able to reach a whole
new swathe of unbelievers, by engaging with a portion of popular culture
hitherto largely unreachable by the church.
On the show, Gary had incredible and prolonged opportunities to talk
about his in-depth analysis of all aspects of this puzzling phenomenon,
stunning the experienced interviewer with his knowledge of all the
â??heaviesâ?? in the field. But he was also â??grilledâ?? in depth about the
â??evolution connectionâ?? of the bookâ??s title, which gave him the chance to
present some very detailed direct biblical expositions on airâ??not just
creation/evolution but direct gospel outreach.
We praise God that so many heard; even the listeners that rang in
indicated that Gary had â??made senseâ?? to most. As a result, the book surged
to the top 100 on Amazon.com and stayed there for the next two days (as high as
no. 59 at one stage). From there, media interest has snowballed; so far, 12
interviews have been requested. Each copy of the book that gets into an
unbelieverâ??s hands, with its full-on biblical worldview in an entertaining,
gripping style, represents a fantastic opportunity.
