I just got this from cachemate seconds ago maybe this will explain part of your 
woes.....

It seems that a change made to Geocaching.com's pocket query generator a couple 
of days ago made things difficult for several geocaching applications. The 
Windows Mobile versions of CacheMate were affected, but oddly enough CMConvert 
(and, thusly, the Palm OS version of CacheMate) was not. Updates have been made 
to the affected versions, and once again things work as they should.

There... crisis abated. Back to working on the Google Android version of the 
app...
