The city motto is "The Cross Roads of the Nation".
The park district currently has no cache there, as they do not have a
policy. They are currently "testing" the waters, and hopefully we will
have another geo-caching friendly park. I don't want to give away their
plans, but what I can say is that they will have a cool cache out,
hopefully in the near future.

I came to the realization, that many of the park folks are very
interested in geo-caching, it is just that it is hard for them to get
information and a "feel" for it, since it requires a GPS in which is a
relatively large investment, specially since we are still a "niche" type
of activity.

Cheers !

Marcos,

What park district did you donate your GPS to?

What park are they planning on placing a cache? Are there caches
already there?

I think that was a great idea! Good PR.

Subject: [GeoStL] Spring Cleaning.

I was doing some Spring cleaning this weekend, I found a Magellan
SportTrack GPS that I had won on a raffle. I thought about putting that
for sale on a garage sale, as I really haven't used it. Some might argue
I don't even use the Garmin eTrek that I got, but that's for another
thread.

Anyway after some thought I decided to donate it to the park district in
my neck of the woods. They were pretty excited about it. They will be
using it to put a cache in the park, so hopefully in the near future we
will have more caches here in the "Cross Roads of the World".

If you are upgrading your GPS to the 60CS, and don't know what to do
with your old one, I would like to suggest to donate to your local park
district, maybe they can put into good use.

The good thing is that donations to the Parks might be tax deductible,
consult your tax advisor.

Cheers !
