Bee update ... all 7 hives are intact, healthy and happy. Since winter solstice
the queen has started to increase her egg production (in the summer she will
lay
more than 1000 eggs per day) and so that by spring the hive population (it
takes
21 days for a bee to develop from an egg) will be enough to go out and get that
wonderful nectar and pollen. After the rains some of the bees were out and
about
... making cleansing flights and now that the temperature has dropped they have
gone back into their cluster to keep the queen and her brood warm.
