- Eric, The first time I had to archive one of my caches it actually was very very hard to do but most everyone in the area had already found it and I was only getting a straggler or 2 now and then. When I placed a new themed cache and replaced it I started getting more hits again. Old caches are nostalgic especially to the placer but after a while no one comes to find it anymore and a new one will regenerate the interest in the area. I have even thought about archiving ALL my caches after a certain time period and replacing them with newer ideas and caches just to get cachers to come back to Rolla for a hunt. I would say that if the original cache is being hit very seldom now it might be time to move the original to you cache "museum" and replace it with a fresh idea and cache. Well, I replaced it again today & I am considering archiving the original cache & making a brand new cache out of this one. The cache is in a different location, but in the same general area. On one hand, if I make this a new cache, it will be fair game for those who have already found it, but on the other hand, this cache has been fairly popular and has around 125 finds, so I hate to see it go. What do you all think? Thanks!
