Hey everyone,
I just wanted to pass this along. I just received a fake ebay email. It
claims to be wanting to verify account information. In actuality, it sends
the recipient to a web page on a Japanese computer that is designed to look
like an ebay page. It tries to get your ebay, paypal, Credit Card, Bank
Account, SSN, Drivers License, and other identifying information. It sends
the info to a person in Romania, with the subject line "New Idiot completed
the form".
Please be very careful when you receive an email asking you to verify
information, or sending you to a website (which may look legitimate) to
verify information. Treat any such requests as attempts to steal your
information and money, until you know for sure that they are legitimate.
