- When you re-installed Windows, it set up Outlook Express as the default mail program. You need to set up your other mail program as the default mail program. Outlook may try to grab it back again, but before it does, it will ask if that is what you want. Answer NO, then check the box that says not to ask or not to check for this again.

You could also go to the Tool menu in Outlook Express and on the general tab at the bottom, there should be an option to not make Outlook the default mail program.

I do not use Outlook.  However, it keeps opening when I work with Mailwasher (programs to manage all my e-mail accounts).  It did not happen before this.  How do I keep Outlook from opening?
