Welcome to the group, Sara. You have joined up with the friendliest, most fun
people around. You may have noticed in the messages that there is a group hunt
planned for Sunday out around Wildwood. That means we set a place and time to
meet and then whoever wants to go just shows up there. Watch this newsgroup
for details. Then it's off to find caches and swap caching stories (at least
until Bernie says "Are we gonna hunt caches or just talk about hunting
caches?").
If you are able to come along, you'll have a great time and learn a lot about
GPS and cache hunting.
If not, there's always next time.

Hi everyone..........
Sorry I haven't done an intro sooner, I joined the group Sunday and decided
to wait till all the "me too" hub bub died down a bit before saying anything.
Anyways this geocaching concept is totally new to me, I'm hoping to get my
first find this weekend, if not it'll have to wait till the following weekend.
I think I'm gonna start with either Suburban Oasis or Beginning of the End
since they are both pretty close to my house, might even hit them both the same
day who knows. Thanks for the info on the the easier ones in St. Charles, I'm
out there almost daily even though I live in Overland.
Anyways, back to a bit about me........I am 23 and have a 3 year old daughter
(millenium baby 1/1/01). I currently work full time (accounting area), carry a
9 hour college load, and have joint custody of my daughter. Plan to be married
in the spring. As far as my other interests, they include reading, hiking,
fishing, floating, biking, cooking, spending time with friends and doing the
best I can for my daughter despite the joint custody deal untill it goes back
to court in 2005 (after I finish school). Hopefully after the next few weeks I
will be able to happily add Geocaching to my list of hobbies that I enjoy in my
free time. Any thing I forgot to include or that anyone else would like to
know? Please feel free to ask.
Also is there someplace that I can read archived group messages?

P.S. Since I just found out about bookcrossing.com (releasing books into the
wild) is it a good or bad idea to leave books in caches? I have a huge box of
books I was thinking about doniating to the local library then thought about
bookcrossing.com. Any other suggestions of good treasures for a newbie to
leave in a cache?
