- To see the level of detail available, go to http://www.garmin.com/cartography/. On the right side under Mapsource Viewer, choose US Topo-East. Zoom in to see the level of detail wherever you want. The viewer uses the actual mapsource data so you can see if its detailed enough for you. My opinion is metroguide is more useful for local caching. I think being able to see all the local roads (metroguide) is more helpful than seeing widely spaced contour lines and fewer roads (US Topo) in relatively flat country. Probably just depends if you want more help getting to a good parking spot, or more help in charting a course once you leave your car. ----- Original Message ----- From: <goshhawk@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "SLAGA" <geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 4:47 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Garmin Topo maps - Does anyone in the group have any experience with Garmin Topo maps? I have the Map Source Program MetroGuide and am very pleased with it. Now I am thinking about buying a topo addition. I have looked at the Garmin website and I am not sure of the level of detail to expect with the program and it's utility in the local area . **************************************************************************** Our WebPage!
